(ZOOM) Have you ever thought about Michigan’s role in the Underground Railroad? You might be surprised to learn that it ran right through southeast Michigan. Join us Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual program to learn more about the history of the Underground Railroad in our area. Jean Winborn, a retired high school teacher from Ypsilanti, will present her family history learned through 30 years of genealogy research, including DNA. She is the founder and co-chair of the Washtenaw African-American Genealogical Society and has been featured on Michigan Public Radio, on the PBS series “Finding Your Roots” and is the author of “Telling Our Stories.” The League of Women Voters of Livingston County will host this virtual program titled “The Underground Railroad: Telling My Ancestors’ Stories” in conjunction with the Howell Carnegie District Library. Advance registration is required. Sign up here: https://howelllibrary.libcal.com/event/15529761
